Health care and medical education are areas of science where a lot of factual information is inseparable from the ability to manipulate that information in a reasoning process. Often times it is difficult for the preceptor to keep the audience focused on the topic and engage the thinking and reasoning behaviors. Several academic centers have researched and utilized different forms of an Audience Response System (ARS).
Our goal is to create and use an Audience Response System (ARS) that is inexpensive to install and use, which should be capable of demonstrating measurable improvements in audience interest, interaction and retention of content. The results of this study would be of particular interest to educators who utilize group presentations as a major instructional tool.
