Patients are predominantly African-American; 1 patient/15 minutes; strong focus on health maintenance and cancer-screening and set guidelines on management of hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia; lots of learning on communicating with patients about risks, benefits, indications and alternatives of certain procedures; residents encouraged to see patient independently; brief case-based discussion after patient encounters
